Do visit the Gasometer even if all your shopping has been done and you do not intend to buy anything. The Gasometer came into being when four massive gas towers were converted into a shopping complex.

The brand-conscious types can head for the Generali-Center which has thirty stores spread over two floors and houses stuff from the topnotch brands around. In case, you wish to buy traditional Austrian wear, head for Loden-Plankl, this landmark of a shop has been around for more than 175 years.

Aigle Azur joins the FlightPass scheme

Aigle Azur, the France-based airline has become a member of the Europe-by-Air FlightPass scheme. Aigle Azur is a major flight operator with flights from eight French cities to seventeen other cities in Portugal, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.

The FlightPass scheme has 21 carriers participating in it and it has more than 800 flights connecting different points in Europe. The ticket price is a fixed AU$179.00 exclusive of taxes and surcharges. You can purchase any number of flight passes and travel with any carrier. The extremities of the area covered by the scheme include Cyprus in the east, Canary Islands in the south, UK in the west, and Moscow in the north.

Bulgarians on the move

The new year will see Bulgarians travel freely to any of the EU member countries using only their ID cards. The information in the cards will be connected to an electronic database that will store information such as date of birth, name, photograph, etc. The new ID cards that will contain this information in an electronic format will be issued from June 28 2009. The databases will be in place by October 31 2007.
