British tourism experienced a decent 2006

In terms of tourism, Britain recovered from a depressing 2005 and recorded an overall growth of 7%. Visits from Western Europe were 6% more in the last quarter as compared to the same period in 2005. The increase in visitors from North America was 2%. Visitors also spent more than those in 2005. An 8% increase resulted in 15.4 billion spent by visitors during the year.
