Cruise holidays are becoming increasingly popular and the ship yards in Europe are handling the bulk of orders from cruise companies around the world. This has led to job creation, wealth generation and more tourists for Europe according to the “European Cruise Contribution†report.
The cruise companies, shipbuilding yards, and cruise passengers bring in €8.3 billion to the European economy and this figure is set to grow to €12.7 billion by 2010. The cruise industry also provides 180,000 jobs in Europe and these may increase by another 50,000 by 2010.
